TV Advert

The story of the ad is that there is a male wearing a pair of puma evospeed football boots and he is running with the ball but while doing so in the background the words ‘Light’, ‘Fit’ and ‘flex’ pop up showing what the product brings to your football. They are showcasing the puma evospeed football boots mainly but also a puma football, puma shorts and a puma top. At the start it says ‘you want speed’ indicating that the boots make you faster and at the end when the player goes to shoot it says ‘Don’t Blink’ which could mean that if they shoot and you blink, they would have already scored.

It looks like the advert is on a set because there are a lot of lights and there is only one strip of grass that he is running on, also you can see when the camera ducks down that the grass is on top of metal construction. The colours that are used are pretty dull and dark, they use a lot of black and grey but there is a bit of yellow on the boot and his top is yellow but they use a lot of lights to make the advert brighter.

The target audience for this advert is mostly male any age. Because they are showcasing male football boots and they have a male wearing them but they probably do women’s version of the boot so women can also be part of the target audience.

There is a song in the background. And it gets faster and more intense as the advert goes on and then the music just cuts off when the player kicks the ball.

There are about 39 different camera shots in the advert most of them with different effects. The first camera shot is a wide shot to show where the advert is set and to show what the product is, the next camera shot is a close up shot of the bottom of the boot and how it looks. It is like this for the majority of the advert but with the odd shot a wide shot. The camera shots show all different angles of the advert with different effects on each of them which makes it interesting for the viewer.

There is only one set used in the advert and that is the one which the player is in and it looks like it is a warehouse with a strip of grass and construction around it. There is a couple of fans and some lights to make it look lighter.

The advert technique's that are used are rhetorical question because they ask 'You want speed' also there is a scientific/statistical claim because it says 'Speed cell', 'monolayer upper', 'everfit cage', 'speed track spine' and 'duoflex'. i dont know what all these are and they are trying to provide evidence that this is a really good football boot.

I think the overall advert is ok because it does clearly show the product they are selling and what you would get if you buy this boot but it could have been much better if they could have got a celebrity too make it more appealing to more people.

The target audience for this advert/product is any gender but mostly male from any age but mostly 8 to 30 because they are sports boots and are trying to appeal to the younger audience becuase they would get more sales.
